The parks

Where to lap

  • Freeway, Peak 8: the expert park. Big jumps, technical rails and the 22 foot superpipe. Watch a few laps before you drop in.
  • Park Lane, Peak 8: the intermediate park. Medium jumps and a long line of rails and boxes. Where most people should spend their park days.
  • Progression parks: smaller jumps, boxes and rollers for learning, set up around Peaks 8 and 9. What is open and where changes through the season, so check terrain status for the day.

Work your way up

  • Start small. Ride the beginner features until you can land them every time, then move up a size.
  • Look before you leap. Ride past a jump first to check the speed and the landing.
  • Know the signs. Breck sizes parks and features. Pick the size you can handle today, not the one your friends are hitting.
  • Spring is the best park season. Soft snow, sunny days, and the crews keep building.

Park etiquette

  • Call your drop and wait your turn.
  • Don't stop on the landing or in blind spots. Clear the feature fast.
  • Make sure the feature and landing are clear before you go.
  • Wear a helmet. Seriously.
  • Freestyle terrain carries extra risk. Ride within your ability.
