Peak by peak

How to ride it

Breck runs north to south along the Tenmile Range. Peak 7 sits on the north end, Peak 10 on the south, and the whole thing tops out at 12,998 feet. Ride the free BreckConnect Gondola up from town to Peak 7 and Peak 8 and skip the parking fight.

  • Peak 6: the Kensho SuperChair gets you close, then a 30 minute or longer bootpack opens up Beyond, Serenity, Six Senses and E.S.P. Serenity is the mellowest way down. All expert terrain.
  • Imperial and the Lake Chutes: Imperial Express tops out at 12,840 feet, billed as the highest chairlift in North America. Hike from the top for the Lake Chutes. Easy Street is the friendliest line; Wacky's and 9 Lives are tight and steep.
  • Peak 8: the T-Bar zone, open bowls above treeline and Freeway, the expert park with a 22 foot superpipe. Après at the T-Bar deck at the base.
  • Peak 7: wide groomers and quieter mornings. A good warm-up on your first day at altitude.
  • Peak 9: mellow terrain at the bottom, where most beginners and lessons start.
  • Peak 10: the Falcon SuperChair serves Mustang, Blackhawk and The Burn. Steep groomers for fast carving. No hike-to terrain here.

Rider beta

  • Go easy on day one. Town is around 9,600 feet. Altitude hits harder than people expect.
  • Watch the wind. Imperial and the T-Bar close in high wind. Check lift status before you commit to the top.
  • Hike-to terrain is expert only. Bring a pack that carries your board so your hands are free on the bootpack.
  • Try before you buy. Our demo fleet is last season's boards, not beat-up rentals. Ride one, then put the demo price toward a new board.
