Rockstar Energy Open
Three days of pro snowboarding in our backyard, and it's free. The Open lands at Breck Dec. 18 to 20, right in the middle of Ullr Fest. Here's what you need to know to watch it, get there and not freeze.

What it is
No pipe, no standard slope course. Snowpark Tech builds a ParkStyle course with Charles Beckinsale and the riders pick their own lines. Last year it ran as head-to-head battles plus a rail jam, and the pros voted it their favorite event of the season.
It felt like a session, not a press conference. People were poaching the hip between runs. If you're into watching riders actually ride, this is the one.
How last year's weekend ran
- Friday: the warmup. A rail jam in the afternoon, then a film night and a concert at Blue River Plaza, a couple blocks from our door.
- Saturday and Sunday: qualifiers, semis and finals on Peak 8.
- All weekend: a free village with music, art and sponsor setups.
Expect something close to that. We'll post the 2026 schedule here as soon as it's out.
Know before you go
- Free to watch. VIP upgrades are sold separately.
- Schedule, lineup and music get announced this winter. We'll update this page.
- It's Ullr Fest weekend too, so town is packed. Leave the car and ride the free gondola or bus.
- You'll be standing still in the snow for hours. Dress for it.

Film a part
The Video Qualifying Series opens Oct. 19 on The Platfrm. Send in your best part, judges hand out weekly cash for best men's part, best women's part and best trick, and fans vote for a Viewer's Choice. The top riders earn a spot in Breck next to the invited pros.
It works. Last year Øyvind Kirkhus came in through the VQS and finished second in the men's final. Rules and entry are on ThePlatfrm.com.

Same weekend
Ullr Fest and getting there
Ullr Fest is Breck's 60-plus-year-old party for the Norse god of snow: the parade down Main, the shotski record attempt and the bonfire. It runs Dec. 17 to 19 this year, so the Open overlaps the best of it. Main Street gets packed. Plan around it.
Skip the parking hunt. The BreckConnect Gondola is free and runs from town up to the Peak 8 base. The Breck Free Ride bus is free too and loops town and the base areas. Driving in? Park at a free lot like the Ice Rink and bus in. More in our Getting Here guide.

- We're at 320 S Main St, a short walk from Blue River Plaza.
- Open 10am to 7pm daily, then 9am to 8pm daily starting Black Friday (Nov 27).

Friday, December 18 through Sunday, December 20, 2026, at Breckenridge Ski Resort. It runs the same weekend as Ullr Fest.
Where on the mountain is the Rockstar Energy Open?
In 2025 the contest ran on Peak 8, with a Friday film night and concert at Blue River Plaza in town. The 2026 venue map has not been released yet. Take the free BreckConnect Gondola from town to the Peak 8 base.

How do riders qualify for the Rockstar Energy Open?
Through the Video Qualifying Series. Riders submit video parts on The Platfrm starting October 19, 2026. Judges give out weekly cash prizes, and the top riders earn a spot in the contest alongside the invited pros.
Who won the Rockstar Energy Open in 2025?
Dusty Henricksen won men's ParkStyle and Telma Särkipaju won women's ParkStyle. Brandon Davis and Jess Perlmutter won the rail jams.
